The Trilogy Meter
I figure this pretty dead on Trilogy Meter belongs on a blog devoted to pop culture.  I wonder how The Watchmen sequels will fair on this chart. Anyways, feel free to discuss this in the comments, because we have those now!

In my opinion, Tom Jones’s major mistake in this video was that he refused to accept that he looked like someone’s dad. As a result, he comes off as a complete child molester.

It’s like Brad Pitt thinking that he could be cast in the movie Sideways. Sometimes you just have to accept that you are a sex symbol, or in Tom Jones’s case, that you once were, but are no longer.

Someone just needed to go up to Tom Jones and say,

“Actually, Tom, it is unusual.”

The-Dream - Walkin on the Moon (Feat. Kanye West)

Whether or not you know who The-Dream is, he most probably has made you shake it. This is the guy who wrote “Umbrella,” “Touch My Body,” “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It),” and a bunch of other jams for Usher and Jamie Foxx, just to name a few. Well, now it is The-Dream’s turn for the spotlight, and he sure as fuck deserves it.

Take this track, off his latest album Love Vs. Money (out in two days!), which is just the tip of the iceberg (pause) when it comes to this man’s genius. Here are some quick observations:

  1. Is it a coincidence that a song called “Walking on the Moon” sound like it could be “PYT (Part 2)”? I think not. The subtle hat tip to Michael Jackson (who was truly Amazing and the inventor of the Moon Walk) is perfect.
  2. This song continues the bizarrely awesome trend of rappers/singers in some outer space scenario (See: Lil’ Wayne’s “Phone Home,” Kid Cudi’s “Embrace the Martian,” and Lloyd’s criminally underrated “Girls Around the World”)
  3. The-Dream does his best Ne-Yo on the break down. This is just begging to be mashed up with  ”So You Can Cry.” If that’s what you want, alright.
  4. The beat is a beast.
  5. I don’t know where The-Dream pulls his hooks from, but I want to go to there.
  6. And of course, Kanye is on the track! This is pretty much what he did on “American Boy,” hence it is tight.

If this is what the year 2085 sounds like, then I’m at least glad my children will have a bright future.

I wonder if Adidas knows how much I want these shoes. I’m guessing not, since if they knew, they would probably give them to me…you know, before I kill a man to get them (i.e. how much I want these shoes).

I cannot believe that this is not a tremendously popular viral video on the Internet, and I am taking to opportunity to make it such.   As a plus, this is by Whitman graduate Sophie Johnson, making it almost relevant to the Secession.

Lily Allen is the dream girl because she is enough of a wreck to make you pay attention and pretty enough to make you care.
